Do You Want to Dance?

I always wanted to learn to tap dance when I was a child.

I love Eleanor's dress, the music, and the dancing in this Fred Astaire and Eleanor Powell YouTube video.

How fun is that? Does anyone really tap dance any more?

We've been watching TV since the move, as our house comes with cable here, an our conversations center around how young actors sell themselves, and short. Love this video - as a tribute to art - honing a skill - having the focus be on the crowd and the viewer - and less on themselves. Anyway - hard to chat about on a comment - but thanks for the post!

I love the concept of dancing. Sometimes I wish I grew up in the times of balls; with all those shimmery, puffy dresses sacheting about. Good exercise it was too. I wish I could somehow implement it here at home with the girls at least. Hmmmm.

We really like tap-dance and watch Singing in the Rain often.

There is no dance school that offers tap-dance in our town. It is simply something from the past. There was a time the complex footwork did return when Celtic dance became fashionable, but other than that it seems something from the past. A shame..I agree.

Singing in the Rain is another favorite too!

Tap dance is something that looks like fun and is still cool in my book. Celtic dance is awesome but different in some way in my mind.

I will just continue to enjoy the YouTube videoes.

It is still around and I am proud to say that my daughter takes it. She is quite good at it as it comes naturally to her unlike my two left feet. She doesn't like it as much as clogging but she enjoys it enough to keep going. I love to watch her practice.
