Last week's assignment was to sketch something that uses electricity. I think everyone did a great job on this assignment and I appreciate that you sent in your images. Here is your slideshow: Electrified!

This week's assignment due, Monday, July 5th: Sketch something you eat on a picnic.
Have fun with your assignment and please send in your sketches ASAP. As always, everyone is invited to sketch...including grown-ups. Send sketches to: sketchtuesday@yahoo.com. Please make sure to check the tab on the top of the blog for complete details for Sketch Tuesday.

Barb,
As part of our pruned down version of a summer schedule, we have Sketch Tuesday on our list. Now, I don't always sketch with you (sometimes i don't get online to look first), but b/c of you and your inspiration, we are sketching! I have one son who loves to draw and one with autism who doesn't. However, their artistically lacking momma is sketching WITH them...not telling them they should just do it. It has been amazing! I pour over your blogs and find myself always motivated and inspired. And in turn, I am inspiring my kids: http://bugsknightsandturkeysintheyard.blogspot.com/2010/06/dinner-in-dark-and-little-sketching.html (just like CM said I should!) A thousand thanks to you, my blog friend!
p.s. we're getting our materials out right now to sketch a little picnic something!
Dear Melissa,
Thank you so much for your comment. I sometimes hear a little from moms when they send in their sketches but for the most part I feel like I am posting without a lot of feedback.
For all the moms who share your thoughts and not just your sketches....a big thank you to you too.
Sketch Tuesday has kept our family sketching for the last few years at least once a week. My husband has filled a sketchbook for the first time in his life. He never thought he could draw before and now he knows he can. :)
Thanks for inspiring me this morning.
Barb
