What is it about cleaning up that creates such chaos before it gets better?
My other priority was to pull out all the art supplies so we could make them more accessible for the summer. We each have picked an area to focus on and improve in our skills.

Mr. B wants to draw with plain old pencils. He requested a box of sharpened pencils and that all the templates be gathered into one place. That one was easy.
Mr. A is working on his model airplane so that space is already dedicated to his tools and supplies. No need to do any rearranging for his interest.

My aim is to work with acrylics using my new book. I gathered my paints and brushes so they are all ready to go when the mood strikes me.

I cleared one of our bulletin boards and now I eagerly anticipate the filling of it with drawings and paintings.

Mr. Van Gogh has a prominent place on the other bulletin board as well as in the living room.

The beginning of summer and a clean sweep of the school area have refreshed my spirits. If you are looking for some plans to get you started with your summer art appreciation, you can check out my Summer 2010 Art and Music Appreciation Plans.

Amy,
I feel so much lighter today with everything organized and fresh. I even added some cut flowers and a new art print up on the wall. It feels renewed.
Thanks for the comment.
I like the name of that art book you have out on the desk!
My son's summer project is pen and ink drawing! Mine should be a good cleanout like you've done! lol I love all the Van Gough's! Very inspiring.
Barb,
Reading about your clean sweep makes me want to get out in our school room and start doing some re-arranging. I have purchased a rug for the floor which I am very excited about. It will make it much more cozy in there, particularly in the winter. As well, I want to clear the lower elementary books from one bookcase and put all of our new curriculum on those shelves. I also purchased an Ancient Egypt bulletin board set which I'll be displaying on the bulletin board. We are studying that period of history for many weeks. Thanks for the inspiration to get going with my schoolroom work!

We just arrived back from a trip through France, the Alps, Italy, Austria and Germany and now I have to climb another mountain: organizing Grade 4. Seeing your neat photo's inspires me to not wait much longer.
Wishing you a great art-summer!
I hope to get our shelves, etc, cleaned up this week. I've been really avoiding anything school related these past few weeks. But, I'm ready to dive back in and prepare for next year!
