Our Van Gogh Wall

Here is a post from my old blog that I would like to have saved on this blog. Enjoy!

Every month as I gather my materials, I try to organize them in such a way that the boys will be able to find them when needed. Nothing wastes more art time then trying to find a book or resource. I like to spend as much time possible enjoying our art appreciation.

Last month in our study of Vincent van Gogh we were able to view his paintings, read a short biography, color some of his painting from the Dover coloring book, complete an art project using his style of painting, add him to our timeline, and write a short biography for our art journal. All this was possible because I took a few minutes at the beginning of the month to gather and organize the resources.
Drawing done by my son with oil pastels on black construction paper.

Our materials for the month:
It just takes a few minutes to make art appreciation enjoyable for everyone.

Here is a scan of the artwork my son drew after looking at
Van Gogh's Bedroom in Arles. Saint-Rémy.
