Impressionist Art Masterpieces to Color-Book Review

The latest book that we have started to use in our family is from Dover Publications. Impressionist Art Masterpieces to Color has 60 paintings from Renoir to Gauguin. All the paintings are shown in their original form on the inside covers. There are also short notes about each painter in the back of the book. The pages in the book are only printed on one side so that makes it perfect for painting and they are perforated so you can remove them from the book. Thirty-seven artists are provided including Mary Cassatt, Cezanne, Degas, Sargent, and Seurat. There are self-portraits, landscapes, and still-lifes.

We chose to use watercolor colored pencils because they give you lots of control. Watercolored pencils are made to be used like a colored pencil but then you go back over with a brush and some water to give it more of a painting feel. I think the results are quite nice.
